Seasons Change -Things Change

Pulled you from the large crowd
To make out in the dark corner
Now things are heated and loud
Trying to make it out of this dark corner
And if I could remind of how it once was
If only I could slip new words into your back pocket as you walk away
I’d remind you of that night when fall stepped in front of summer
And I gave you my hoodie to disappear in
Poking your head through the top you asked if I’d be okay
I watched the air cling to my words and slowly go away
The confidence of a single summer gone astray
Now the nights are chilly without your smile and those hugs from behind
Love is love, how dare you put is so simple
Had my wavelength figured out
Until you simply passed by
A simple glance causing a ripple
Let it be an effect
Allow emotions once held down to break through the surface
I stare into your eyes
Hovering over your heaving chest
Shit, I could be the worst
Furthest from the best
New explorations
Physical manifestations creating strange locations
Could be so happy in the pouring rain
Miserable on the beach
Either way my soul broke down
My tears the levee you were able to breach
My sister found her fate in the ability to teach
I hold her young baby in my arms
So small and timid, so easy to break
And that’s relevant because all creation depends on a strong foundation
